I am experiencing expeditious shopping envy.

I bought a new M&P .40 over 30 days ago, and I have to wait until the 2nd day of 2009 to pick it up.

Very nice pickups! Well except for the candle and pink cup. Ha ha...just kidding. Looks like you got a nice score. Where is home that allows cash and carry same day even on handguns? We have cash and carry on rifles/shotguns here in Wisconsin, but handguns have a 48-hour waiting period.

Thank God for the Texas economy. 20 years ago my direction was Houston, Detroit, or Atlanta. As I said in a older thread, I am one lucky SOB.

And congrats on your purchases and bonus. Work your ass off for another one next year (not saying you didn't before).

I went to the Gun Show this weekend, and found myself a Christmas present. She's a sweety. Armalite AR-10 A2 .308 I will post a picture, as soon as I get the toys on her. Had to order the quad rail, the quad rails for AR-15s wouldn't fit. Got a Vltor collapsible stock.

Missouri allows cash and carry same day handguns, they do of course have you fill out the form and they call it in, we used to have to get handgun purchase permit from the local sheriff but that went away.

Do you eat only one kind of food ?

Variety is the spice of life,
Also we are not tied to only one gun.

That reasoning would make me the AMELDA MARCOS of guns....

So................... Mad Hatter, tell me, do you have more than one hat? Do you live on the street? Is your home address a van? Why does it matter how many guns someone has?

I hunt small game, I shoot varmints, I hunt big game, I target shoot, handgun, small bore, high power and maybe skeet. Think one gun will do all that?

OOT, why hijack this thread?

o

LMAO!

To answer MadHatter....I bought a 2nd one that I can have with me in my car. The first one stays at home where my g/f can use it if I am not home and the need arises. I also bought the 2nd one in case our house is broken into it, and we stumble upon it in progress. Yeah I know it's not likely, but it can and has happened to others. So if that situation happens, I am armed with something more powerful than they would have if they were to find my gun in the house. Too bad for them... :36_1_30:

Nice score, JJ. I'm glad to see you didn't squander your bonus!

As for cash-and-carry, I was surprised when I found out FL has a 3-day waiting period on handguns. Waived if you have a CCW.

I could live with one gun no problem
I have many guns for one reason for having fun not for SHTF
if it does happen I know for sure what gun would be my 99% gun
but I will never till anyone which one it is.:36_1_30:

Congrats on the nice xmas gifts!
I just got the same shotgun (sans the ext tube)

You folks are lucky to be in States that have fair laws & good prices on Ammo
We can get long guns here easy same day once you have the 1 year open permit to acquire. But handguns are always a 10 day hassle.

Congrats & enjoy

Gee, I don't know. What's the point of having more than one set of earrings? Why do people eat different types of food, why not eat the same thing all of the time? Variety is one reason. Another might be that different guns do different things. A shotgun for home defense/duck hunting/dove and quail hunting. A pistol for concealed carry/personal defense. A rifle for deer hunting/varmint control (all types of varmints!) Those would be my reasons. Plus, I consider myself a collector, as do many on this forum. Some people like to get ahold of things that the Govt. and the PC loonies would rather you not have. It's a free country (I think) that's why!

That stainless Marlin is beautiful! I have a stainless 10-22. It came with the cheapo wood stock. I bought one of the black synthetic Ruger stocks on Ebay. It looks bad ass set up that way.

Re: I just got back from SHOPPING

The Marlin Model 60 is a fine .22 semiauto. My first .22 semiauto was a Glenfield Model 60 (basically the same gun). Reliable, accurate and affordable. Nice score all around!

squander - LOL love it!

with a TX CHL, the only benefit @ point of purchase is that they don't call in the background check.

thanks for the comments guys...

Headin out to the country in a couplea hours to do some shootin.

I'll try to do some range reports--- IF I have time.

I forgot to mention I got this new scope a couple of weeks ago. need to sight it in.

I dont know if I'm going to Keep it on the AR - but In the meantime, Plan on having some fun w/ it.

Congratulations, I have the same M&P in .40, I believe you'll be pleased. Stout pistol, the extra magazines are a little expensive, but it's a beast and I like the accuracy.

I guess they put a quarter million into researching the human hand when they redesigned the grips for it.

Because at the most basic level, guns are tools that can meet a variety of needs, and the variations in their design allow them to more efficiently meet those needs. You wouldn't shoot skeet with the same gun you carry in your pocket for self-defense, and you probably wouldn't hunt deer with either of those two guns.

Plus, shooting is fun, and it's even more fun when you have different types of guns to shoot.
